Today Positive Carbon is becoming Foodsight.
New name. Growing team. Same mission.
Positive Carbon began with a simple belief. If kitchen teams see what they are throwing away, they stop wasting it. We were right. With better information, our partners have reduced food waste by as much as 90%.
In our first year, I bought the old food poster in this photo. It has stayed with me ever since:
“Buy it with thought. Cook it with care. Serve just enough. Use what is left.”

A century later, its advice is strikingly simple and still relevant.
Food was once considered too valuable to be casually discarded. Treating it as disposable at today’s scale is relatively new. What kitchens have been missing is visibility.
We started with a community of sustainability advocates across hospitality. We believed that too many climate companies and programs were focused on fear and sacrifice, and we wanted to be a force for positive change.
So the name Positive Carbon was born.
As we entered new markets and new kinds of kitchens, our customers showed us that the data could do so much more.
In hospitals, it could provide new insight into patient nutrition, answering questions such as: “How does this menu perform in a specific ward?” and “Are patients eating the food we serve?”
In stadiums, it could support the planning required to go from an empty venue to feeding more than 50,000 people. Often with team members working their very first shift.
And in workplaces, it could help some of the world’s best food-service teams, many based right here in Dublin, keep raising the bar, ensuring that every gram bought and cooked delivers value to their clients.
This got me thinking. We are not just a sustainability platform. We are helping people deliver better food experiences and see gaps in the business they couldn’t see previously.
Foodsight captures what we have become: a platform that helps kitchens see what was previously invisible, make better decisions and create better food experiences with less waste.
Foodsight is the culmination of years of hard work from everyone who has been part of our journey, alongside the trust of every customer who allowed us to learn with them.
Every gram seen. No gram wasted.
This is Foodsight.
